Moguls

Mounds of snow, both man-made and natural, that dot ungroomed runs. Moguls may be formed by the repeated turning of skis that follow the same tracks, thus carving out ruts. Steeper slopes have more pronounced moguls.

The term comes from the Alpine dialect word 'mugel', referring to the mound.
