Fédération Internationale de Ski (FIS)
Also known as the International Ski Federation.
The ruling body of international ski competitions, founded in 1924 by 14 member nations in Chamonix, France. It is now based in Oberhofen am Thunersee, Switzerland, and has a membership of 101 national ski associations.
The federation organises a number ski sport disciplines, for which it oversees World Championships and World Cup competitions:
