Biathlon

A winter sport that combines competitive cross-country track-racing with target shooting with a rifle.

The contestants ski around a cross-country track, which broken up by a number of shooting rounds, half in prone position, the other half standing. Depending on the contestant's shooting performance, extra time or distance is added to the contestant's total running time or distance.
